Jenny Michel

In her work, Jenny Michel combines objects, drawings, photographs, texts, and sound into complex series of works that possess a contextual background multi-layered with philosophical-scientific contemplations as well as further developed theories based on them.

The works are based on a process of "palimpsesting" information. In a non-linear layering, arranging, collaging, and de-collaging of signs and texts, combined with different, new, old found and reused papers and other materials, the works grow together over a period of years into a complete modular-like, labyrinthine structure.
