Claudia Schmitz

Transsubstance - Artist meets autonomous* Post-Human-Artist* in the form of an autopoetic transmedial conversation in real and imagined space - based on paper. An AI trained on the sound of paper and drawing gestures interacts with the artist in the form of a real-time audiovisual performance. The real-time performance will subsequently remain in the exhibition space as a walk-in installation. Biography

Claudia Schmitz was born in Mainz in 1975 and is at home in the triangle Cologne, Berlin and Mainz. After several semesters of film studies, art history and mathematics in Mainz and Cologne, Claudia Schmitz studied at the KHM Cologne. She received her diploma in media art with distinction from VALIE EXPORT, Peter Zimmermann, Prof. Dr. Marie-Luise Angerer and Susanna Schoenberg. She is internationally active and has received numerous awards. Among others, the Recherche Stipend of the Fonds Darstellende Kuenste (2022), the foreign scholarship for Korea (2017) of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in cooperation with the MMCA National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul.
