Renata Palekcic
The patterns in Renata Palekcic's amorphous paper objects are abstract.
The Hamburg-based artist transforms the two-dimensional material paper through the intuitive-repetitive process of cutting into three-dimensional, expansive, organically abstract sculptures.
She thinks of and describes her installations and sculptures as 'three-dimensional drawing' in space.
Freehand, she draws lines with the cutter, sets recesses.
Violating cuts create voluminous and multilayered material formations. Irregularities, barely perceptible to the eye, are witnesses to the handicraft.
The sculptural works can be presented in different variations, constantly changed and developed through new contexts and spaces.
For the papier & klang festival, Renata Palekcic presents an installation of several cut objects made of recycled paper. In this new work, she also incorporates painterly components for the first time.
The site-specific installation seems to float in the exhibition space.
It will be tangible, walkable, audible and palpable for visitors.

Biography
Renata Palekcic, born in 1973 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, lives and works in Hamburg.
She studied at the Facultad de Bellas Artes Universidad de Sevilla and at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. In 2007 she graduated with a diploma in free art at the HFBK Hamburg. Since then she has been working as a freelance artist.
Her works are exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in various cities in Germany such as Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden, Rüsselsheim, Bremen, Braunschweig and internationally in galleries and cultural venues in New York, London, Rome and New Delhi.
