Kaja El Attar
Kaja El Attar's contemporary art is a modern plea for freedom and imagination - and thus a rebellion against the overly critical mind.
She creates inner worlds that are removed from reality and enlightens us that the perception of the world is a fantasy that coincides with reality - and not the other way around... Whenever we see, hear, smell, taste and feel, we invent. Personal perceptions are also always our own inventions. Seeing is inventing. Every creative act is an individual rebellion against the reality that is familiar to us. Hearing through seeing - sound is an abstract term for something audible, which, through different perception of each individual, allows us to sense a feeling, a sensuality.
These (sound and tone) are fleeting. It wonders why a sound sounds different to each hearing organ? Is everything we perceive pure, our own interpretation? What makes a sound sound slanted/missing and why? The sighted person should have confidence in his own interpretation perception, what he hears and sees exists in the free space of transformation. She would like to go on a search for traces, in which sound experiences become inventively audible.
Her drawings have always had a lot to do with sound, sounding out and repelling movements. When a note is represented abstractly only by a line, by individual dots, sweeps, etc., it can sound more significant than the audible sound of a note itself.
